This project was unique for its time, because the goal was to design and build a new house that looked old. We removed an existing house from an old neighborhood of summer cottages that was formed in the 1910’s, and constructed a new residence in its place. We considered vinyl exterior siding to be an experiment because the product was the new to the marketplace at the time. Summer porches were just beginning to become popular again.
